Bollywood does Diwali… See our favourite looks

A very Happy Diwali and New Years to you all. We hope that this coming year is one filled with love, laughter and light for everyone.

The festival of lights has been a busy one at Red Dot Jewels. We have been preparing the 2018 Bridal Collection and just had a photoshoot with the lovely team at Khush Magazine. We cannot wait to share this with you next month, but it’s all top secret until then.

So, Bollywood knows how to celebrate Diwali and it seems that the actresses need no excuse to get their glad rags on and give us fashion fans something to drool over. We’ve selected our favourite looks from our B-Town beauties and the trends this year were definitely contemporary ethnic with an emphasis on traditional jewellery to enhance the look.

Shilpa Shetty was on trend with tassels and florals wearing Manish Malhotra. And that statement necklace… The emeralds looked flawless from Mehernesh Heeramaneck.

All we can say is WOW! With the perfect balance of contemporary and traditional, Sonam Kapoor looked flawless, classy and elegant with the signature Sandeep Kholsa embroidery. The jewellery was very ethnic in antique gold set.

Kareena Kapoor in a stunning Kurta-Sharara set courtesy of Tarun Tahiliani. Beautiful, classy and elegant with intricate, muted embroidery. These neutral and golden tones were perfectly matched with the green emeralds in the traditional jewellery by Shri Hari Diagems.

No-one does a saree better then Deepika Padukone wearing a white Anamika Khanna ensemble, keeping it simple and classy. The pop of colour with red lips and chandelier earrings completes the look perfectly.

The youngsters outdid themselves! Absolutely loved Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor’s outfits by Bollywood couturier Manish Malhotra.
Jhanvi rocked in a stunning turquoise lehenga with bold embroidery, embracing Diwali and what it stands for, completing the look with statement earrings by Begani Jewels.
Khushi however, smashed it with a corset choli and beautiful nude mirror-embellished lehenga, finished off with a mang-tikka… Effortless.
